Every month we dance balfolk with live music of upcoming artists! You may expect a nice evening with social dances with a smaller group (max 35 people). Never danced balfolk before? No worries, the basic steps are simple and are explained beforehand, so you can also immediately enjoy yourself on the dancefloor.
This month we dance to the music of Strøm.
Strøm is a folk duo from Leuven consisting of Jonathan Dhondt and Johannes Verherstraeten. Their musical paths first crossed during a folk music internship in Gooik, and since then they have been playing together in various folk jams and occasionally at small-scale performances. Jonathan is a virtuoso violinist who also plays the octave mandolin and guitar. Johannes is a multi-instrumentalist, usually heard on twelve-string guitar, piano or low whistle. Together they bring a mix of subdued Swedish melodies and cheerful Irish dance music. You may have already seen them in the small jams after the Bals van Morgen – this time they will be taking care of the entire ball!
To pay for the location, we invite you to donate any contribution. Leftover money is given to the musicians.
